"Previous year was full of events - we left the stock exchange and gained a new investor. However, definitely the most important for us is that we have recorded another record year when it comes to operated volumes. In the most important time for the industry i.e., the peak of the Christmas season, we increased the operated volumes from less than 6 million in 2016 to over 10 million of packages in 2017. There were days when we delivered 15 shipments in all channels every second of the 12 hours work day" – said Rafał Brzoska, founder and the CEO of the Integer.pl Group ,the owner of InPost.
He adds that it is also important for the Group to grow faster than the market and to increase its market range. "The e-commerce market grows within the range of 15-20% annually. We observe year-on-year increases of more than 50%, which means that we strengthen our position on this very competitive market" – emphasized Rafał Brzoska.
When preparing for the peak of the Christmas season in 2017, the Integer.pl Group carried out large investments. The most important was nearly a double increase in the number of available parcel boxes from 130,000 in December 2016 to 250,000 at the end of 2017. InPost also increased employment by additional 3,000 people and 1,000 additional courier cars.
Also in December, InPost introduced an innovative solution based on artificial intelligence - chatbot "Paczucha". All you need to do is to enter InPost – Paczkomaty, Courier" in Messenger and ask a question e.g.: "What is the status of the shipment no. …?", "Where is the closest Paczkomat?" to receive immediate answer generated by self-learning chatbot.
Soon, with the use of this tool, you will not only be able to check the status of the shipment, but also send the parcel in the nearest parcel locker, and all this by using only a smartphone with installed Messenger.
