On 29th March the company’s representatives took part in a debate held in Gdansk to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection: “Liberalisation, deregulation, competition on the markets”.

Rafal Brzoska, the President of the Board of Directors of InPost, gave a talk entitled “Postal services market opening and its meaning to the entrepreneurs”. The main aims of the talk were to present the prospects and development opportunities for the Polish postal sector after its liberalisation and the benefits of the EU directive on the full postal market opening for the small, medium and large enterprises in Poland.

"Most enrepreneurs are not alive to the opportunities and chances created by the liberalisation of the postal sector. For this reason, InPost has joined the discussion on the condition of our industry on the eve of extensive and far-reaching changes. Not only do we fight for this market for our own benefit, but also for the benefit of the idividual and business clients, particulary those who, bacause of the current regulations, struggle with the delivery costs which are disproportionately high to their kind of business activity. The area we are active in needs solutions which are European in scope. I firmly believe that the debates, like the one held by the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, and the full postal market opening will produce notable effects for the clients”, said Rafal Brzoska, the President of the Board of Directors of InPost.

The topics raised during the “Liberalisation, deregulation, competition on the markets” debate included the prospects for further liberalisation of the markets which do not favour competition due to historical or structural reasons. Liberalisation and deregulation of the markets and facilitating the access to the infrastructure were also among the topics raised during the meeting. The participants of the conference included the representatives of entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial associations, as well as the members of the European Commission, the Bar and the academia.

Between 22nd and 24th InPost was also taking part in the European Postal Services conference in Brussels, the conference of the European postal operators. The main theme of this year’s edition was the condition of the postal services market in the time of the economic crisis.
