InPost parcel lockers head to Central America and the Caribbean!

Group, owner of the largest network of parcel lockers worldwide, has closed a deal on selling 10 of its revolutionary terminals to Aeropost, the region’s leading e-commerce logistics provider. In the months to come, the first parcel lockers will be deployed in Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Guatemala, followed by rollouts in Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, Barbados, Panama and the Dominican Republic. The entire project for the Miami based company calls for launching over 100 innovative machines across 30 countries and islands, revolutionizing U.S. to Latin America cross-border trade in the region.

The innovative devices made by the Polish Group allow for the independent collecting and dispatching of parcels 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The latest version of the parcel locker will provide Aeropost customers with a self service option to pick up their package 24 hours a day/7 days a week and in as little time as 7 seconds, thanks to QR codes and CodeWise technology.

“The fact that another crucial global player has decided to collaborate with our organization proves how rapidly InPost parcel lockers are revolutionizing the postal and courier market worldwide. Building on the successful and effective implementations with Postal Operators, including Australia Post, Saudi Post, Correos Chile, Íslandspóstur, Cyprus Post, Eesti Post and the Estonian Post, where as many as 50% of parcels coming from auctions and e-stores are processed by our terminals, I am convinced that these devices will also perfectly match the needs of Central America and the Caribbean, reducing operational costs and improving customer convenience” - said Rafał Brzoska, CEO of Group.

Aeropost is a cross border commerce solution for LATAM customers shopping online in the USA. Aeropost's network includes 38 countries and 100 stores that provide local presence for payment, package pickup and online shopping assistance. The Miami based company is another key business partner that has signed a contract with Group.Recently, the Polish distributor of parcel lockers won the tender for delivery of terminals to Íslandspóstur – a national postal operator running its operations with the territory of Iceland. The first deal encompasses a provision of 18 parcel lockers, out of which 8 have to be delivered until end 2013 and the remaining 10 units until end 2014.

In addition, Group develops its own network of InPost parcel lockers. Until end 2013, the Romanian market will be supplied with 200 devices holding the brand of the Polish operator. This is the first stage of expansion of revolutionary terminals addressed to that area. In total, by the end 2014, as many as 500 InPost parcel lockers will have been installed in Romania.
