  Group – financial results for 2013

  Group – the owner of the biggest global network of revolutionary InPost parcel machines as well as the largest private postal group in Poland – achieved in the 2013 consolidated revenues from sales at the level of PLN 347,32 million, an increase of 23,2% comparing to the same period last year. The company reported PLN 8,63 million of consolidated net profit in 2013. The results reported in 2013 should be compared to the results in 2012 without one-off sale of the subsidiary Kolportaż Rzetelny Sp. z o.o. The value of the transaction amounted at PLN 52,75 m.



    Consolidated EBITDA in 2013 amounted to PLN 49,54 million, while EBIT operating profit PLN 24,23 million.


    The cost of the international expansion of easyPack by InPost machines have significantly affected the result of Group in 2013. According to the Group, the profits from the country where the company started its activity, will appear after approximately 12 months.

    „Last year was a time of an enormous e-commerce success - excellent results of e-shopping caused, that we decided to boost our InPost parcel lockers expansion. We have appeared in new, very prospective regions, including: Romania, Colombia, Iceland as well as Caribbean. We are dynamically developing in one of the most advanced e-commerce markets in the world – Great Britain. This year we will increase the pace of expansion even stronger - shortly, we will announce new contracts and partnerships in Europe and worldwide. Still, we will constantly fight for demonopolisation of the Polish postal market”– said Rafal Brzoska, CEO of the Group.


    In the Q1 2014 Group has hired J.P. Morgan as financial adviser for a capital raise process for the locker business in the coming years. It is connected with the accelerated expansion of InPost parcel lockers in Europe, Asia and the Americas.


    Key events in 2013:


    • December 2013

    • InPost extends its business in terms of postal services addressed to the public sector. The company, along with the Polish Postal Group (Polska Grupa Pocztowa), will handle an enormous deal related to processing of correspondence of Polish courts and prosecutor’s offices. The 2-years contract may be valued at as much as PLN 200 million.
    • Group has concluded a strategic agreement with Samsung. Having completed the pilot program, InPost parcel lockers are implementing some permanent logistical activities for Samsung's equipment warranty repairs.

    • November 2013


    • Group has won the tender for delivery of parcel lockers organized by Íslandspóstur. The machines will be deployed under the Icelandic Post brand. Group has finally defeated the Austrian company, KEBA.
    • Group has closed a deal on selling 10 of its terminals to Aeropost, the region’s leading e-commerce logistics provider. The first parcel lockers will be deployed in Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Guatemala, followed by rollouts in Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, Barbados, Panama and the Dominican Republic. The entire project for the Miami based company calls for launching over 100 innovative machines across 30 countries and islands.

    • October 2013


    • InPost together with NCR has won Postal Technology International Award in the category of 'Retail Innovation of the Year'. The jury recognized the InPost Postal Terminal - a joint effort of InPost and NCR Corporation as the 'Innovation of the Year'.

    • Group started implementation of InPost parcel lockers in Romania. The company plans to create the network of 500 machines in total by the end of 2014.

    • September 2013


    • InPost began a cooperation with Stefczyk Finance – the partnership agreement enabled to increase of the InPost network with 400 new Customer Service Centers.

    • The Czech operator of automated postal terminals, Kouzelna Almara, decided to install Inpost parcel machines in place of the KEBA terminals, that have been used by Kouzelna Almara so far.

    • InPost Finanse won the tender to handle the remittances for the Kielce and Lodz KRUS funds. These agreement include the delivery of more than 40,000 cash benefits a month in both voivodeships.

    • June 2013


    • Group has completed the private placement directed to Polish and foreign institutional investors. In total, the company raised approximately PLN 147m (EUR 34.5m). The funds are to be used for expansion of the InPost parcel lockers network in Poland and abroad.


    • InPost has won the international World Mail Awards contest for the fourth time. This time, the company triumphed in the category ‘Customer service’, ahead of such companies as: Singapore Post and LibanPost.

    • May 2013 – Group has signed a next contract with IN TIME in Czech Republic. The cooperation assumes the deployment of at least 150 terminals.


    • April 2013 – Group has began an expansion in Great Britain. The company will use the potential of this market by deploying there 2000 InPost parcel machines.


    • March 2013 – Group signed a contract with courier company IN TIME for delivery of InPost parcel lockers in Slovakia regions.


    • February 2013 – InPost Finance has signed a contract with Generali T.U. S.A. for selling the insurance policies at the InPost Customer Service Point, located throughout the country.

    • InPost among the winners of „the ones who change Polish industry” for „visionary perception of the industry, promotion of Poland in the international arena through the easyPack by InPost service and a huge contribution to the development of the postal and courier sector”.

    In 2013, Group continued its development on three key levels as the business owner:


    • revolutionary InPost parcel machines

    • the largest private post InPost

    • an independent financial and insurance provider, InPost Finance

    InPost Parcel lockers


    Currently, Group continues the largest domestic and foreign expansion of InPost parcel machines in its history, including:


    • 1.100 InPost parcel lockers have been available in the Polish market since November 2013.

    • A significant expansion of services in foreign markets. More than 3500 parcel machines are available in various business models worldwide.

    • Acquiring of approximately new 6,000 locations for the machines.

    • New parcel machines will be installed in: France, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Turkey, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Romania and Bulgaria, Russia and Spain.

    Over the next 3-4 years InPost parcel lockers will also appear in the Americas and in Asia. The company has started identifying locations for planned investment. In the United States, Group plans to launch 10,000 parcel lockers to the end of 2016 and in Asia the machines will be deployed in China - in Beijing and Shanghai. The entire project may eventually reach up to 1 billion euros.




    InPost - the largest private post in Poland - consistently strengthening its position in the domestic market of postal and courier services:


    • InPost extends its business in terms of postal services addressed to the public sector. The company, along with the Polish Postal Group (Polska Grupa Pocztowa), will handle an enormous deal related to processing of correspondence of Polish courts and prosecutor’s offices. The 2-years contract may be valued at as much as PLN 200 million.

    • 7,500 Customer Service Points are available for the clients. Points providing services to over 10 thousand for institutional clients, and 750 localities with offices for individual clients. Plan for the end of 2014 assumes to further dynamic develop Customer Service Points network.

    • InPost SA plans the active participation in the consolidation of the Polish posta market. In 2013 the Antimonopoly Office has agreed for taking the control over the companies Inforsys S.A. and Polska Grupa Pocztowa SA. However no final decisions has been made so far, Group has not committed to any further moves at this stage of the negotiations.

    InPost Finance


    InPost Finance – an independent provider of financial and insurance services; the company enables massive cash withdrawals, sending money transfers and utility bills payment. In addition, the company offers credit services for mass customers, and provides support to perform operations on bank accounts.


    InPost Finance provides services relating to the provision of money transfers, regularly winning public tenders. The company delivers approximately 100 thousand benefits per month. The following public entities cooperate with independent financial service provider:


    • Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (KRUS) branches in Warsaw, Lodz, Gdansk, Poznan, Białystok, Radom, Opole, and Kielce.

    • Town or City Councils in Tarnów, Bydgoszcz and Poznańskie Centrum Świadczeń in Poznan

    • Municipal Social Welfare Centres in Łódź, Częstochowa, Tarnów, Bydgoszcz, Plock and numerous OPSs in Warsaw

    InPost Finance flagship services include electronic financial products: multi operator e-invoice and mobile payments, included in the portfolio of the company in 2010. InPost Finance also offers a wide range of insurance services. Currently, the company cooperates on a long term basis with:


    • Generali T.U. S.A. cooperation includes the sale of individual property insurance, NNW (accident insurance) and travel insurance, and a full range of communications products. Cooperation activities also include the sale of corporate insurance: property, liability and transportation


    • LINK4 cooperation includes the sale of motor insurance. Even in 2013, the cooperation between InPost Finance Sp. z o.o. and LINK4 has been extended by the delivery of money transfers. It is also planned to start selling home insurance

    • Western Union in the field of sending and receiving money transfers and support services, such as payments and cash withdrawals.
